 PRACTICE ENTRY AND SUPPORT

The rural and medically underserved community continues to be challenged in efforts to recruit and retain the health professional. AHEC gathers information on community needs and looks for opportunities to match those needs with individuals in the east Texas region looking for employment.

HOW?

We encourage the use of TEXAS HEALTH MATCH, our web-based matching software to recruit and retain healthcare providers, healthcare related professionals, and health industry skilled workers. Texas Health Match offers the opportunity for both jobseeker and employer postings creating a data resource for self-matching. Our recruitment and retention staff offer free technical on-line assistance with profiles to face-to-face community development.

We have recently iniated the AHEC Retention and Recruitment Community Model to engage communities in processes to secure their future workforce and and sustain or enhance economic development.

To assist in the retention of the healthcare professional, AHEC provides information on CNE, CME, and CEU opportunities, provides professional updates on the newest medical advances, organizes and coordinates multidisciplinary conferences, and offers support for communication and networking among health professionals.
