Medical Student Programs
The University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston
Ambulatory Community Selective  – required 1-month community rotation for 4th-year medical students.  Students select the specialty of their choice.

Public Health / Interdisciplinary Ambulatory Community Selective 4-week selective that provides an opportunity for the 4th-year medical student to learn abut the profession and practice of medicine in a community setting with special opportunities to explore interdisciplinary team practice and public health. Facilitated by AHEC staff and community partners.

  East Texas AHEC establish, maintain, and advocate community-based training for health professions students, with an emphasis on primary care and underserved populations.  Our efforts encourage the health professions student to return to the community setting to practice once they graduate.
