About-Texas AHEC East

With the mission to “make communities healthier” Texas AHEC East is devoted to improving the supply, distribution, retention and training of varied health professionals in medically under-served areas.

Linking 100 Texas counties and over 18 million people to community health workforce development, health opportunities and health resources our activities and events are aligned with four major program areas:

  •  Community-Based Experiential Training
    • AHEC Scholars Program
      •  Health Careers Promotion and Preparation
        • Continuing Education

The program office is located in Galveston, Texas on the campus of the University of Texas Medical Branch.
