O.W.L.S. – Observing Working Learning Students
The OWLS program is a collaboration between Round Rock ISD, Dell Children’s Hospital, and Texas AHEC East – Capital Region. During the project students from select high schools are able to rotate through different shadowing experiences offered by Dell Children’s Hospital. This is a unique opportunity for students to observe different areas of the hospital while gaining valuable experience shadowing multiple areas. This collaboration benefits students interested in careers in pediatrics and prepares them for a future in that field.
The Nursing Academy is an annual event hosted by the Healthcare Workforce Alliance of Central Texas where students from the Texas AHEC East – Capital Region service area have the opportunity to learn about careers in nursing and experience a hands-on simulation lab at one of the area facilities.
